Over the past few years, I’ve become used to detours. As much as I would prefer a BIG NEON SIGN that clearly marks the road ahead, I’ve been learning to rest in the quiet assurance of God’s gentle guidance. That doesn’t mean it’s always easy.

You don’t have to be perfect to be purposeful. Your love is seen. Your effort matters. And your presence is enough. So go ahead and release the regrets. Let grace do what it does best: fill the gaps, cover the cracks, and remind you that love is the legacy that lasts.

Recently I spent 48 hours at Well of Mercy, a beautiful retreat center in Hamptonville, NC. Someone asked me before I went what I was hoping to gain from the time away with God, and I shared that I was doing my best to arrive without expectations. This was simply precious time to set aside to enjoy the quiet connection with our Divine Creator.
