Sacred Detours

Over the past few years, I’ve become used to detours. As much as I would prefer a BIG NEON SIGN that clearly marks the road ahead, I’ve been learning to rest in the quiet assurance of God’s gentle guidance. That doesn’t mean it’s always easy.

His direction can spark uncertainty, self-doubt, and even resistance. From a worldly perspective, the detour He points us toward can seem unrealistic. We start asking questions like, “What’s wrong with the path I’m already on? I’m doing good things for God; shouldn’t that be enough?”
But sometimes, God calls us away from something good so He can lead us toward something greater.
When we slow down long enough to listen, we begin to sense that His redirections are not rejections but invitations to deeper trust, quieter faith, and greater surrender. The path that once felt confusing begins to reveal itself as holy ground, where He is doing something new. And, as we step into the final two months of this year, I marvel at how faithful God has been at leading me, one step at a time.
At Echo Joy Collective, we’ve been in a detour kind of season. Over the last year, God has been quietly reshaping our focus, deepening our roots so that new fruit can grow. It’s been a year of listening more than launching, of building quietly rather than publicly. And while the work has looked different, the heartbeat has remained the same: helping women walk closely with Jesus, experience freedom, and live their stories with courage, joy, and unshakable faith.
We can’t wait to show you what’s been forming beneath the surface and how God’s gentle detours have been leading us into a fresh chapter. Until then, our prayer is that this season reminds you that divine detours aren’t setbacks; they’re sacred reroutes to something more beautiful than we could plan on our own. If you’ve been experiencing a restlessness, set aside time to get quiet and spiritually sensitive to His presence. Trust that He will guide you.
A Prayer for Detours
Inhale: “I submit my ways to You.”
Exhale: “Because I trust You.”
Father God,
Give me the courage to evaluate my path with honesty and humility. Make me sensitive to any adjustments You’re inviting me to make, whether they are small nudges or significant pivots. There are so many good things I can do with/for You and in Your name, but I don’t want to move without Your guidance.
Show me what to commit to and what to release. Give me the courage to follow through, the discernment to know Your voice, and the faith to trust Your leading even when the road ahead isn’t clear. You are my guide, my shepherd, and the light for my steps.
Amen.
